Background information
Kodaline are a four-piece
indie-rock band from Dublin, Ireland. In 2007 the band was originally known as
21 Demands, the band made chart history in March of that year, their debut
single "Give Me A Minute" became number one in the Irish singles
chart. The band is made up of Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergast, Vinny May and
Jason Boland. In 2011 the band changed their name to Kodaline.
Their first release as Kodaline
was in September 2012, they released their debut extended play- The Kodaline
EP. This included the songs All I Want, Lose Your Mind, Perfect World and play.
‘All I want’ went on to be successful and featured in a number of television
programmes, including Grey’s Anatomy.
The band released their first
studio album in June 2013: In a Perfect World. It featured the tracks

Influences
In this Q&A session for sounds magazine the band discuss
their influences. Lead singer Steve Garrigan talks about how blues and soul
singers such as Sam Cooke and Etta James had a personal influence on him. In
relation to the entire band they name bands such as The Beatles, The Strokes,
Elbow, Radiohead and Led Zeppelin
